Writers Workshop- Where's the Teeth?

Mama Kat's prompts:

1. Your trip to the ER......spill it. (inspired by Stephanie from This Blessed Life.) What a cute family! Once the MP put mini M&M's up her nose. Thank heavens I didn't have to go to the ER for that. I started to panic thinking my child's brain was leaking out her nose but then we all realized what it was. BIG.SIGH. OF. RELIEF.

2. "Why are Americans obsessed with weight? Why are we always fighting or complaining about what is natural for our bodies?" (inspired by Jenn from Jenny Says What?) Amen Sister! Let's have Cake, cheesecake that is!

3. Describe one of your 'God Moments'. (inspired by Jordan from Wide Open Spaces.) Oh my! Loved this one. I need to go back and visit her for some tips - I have control issues.

4. List ten things you would say to ten different people in your life...... if you had the hutspah. (inspired by Cassandra from Cassagram.) If only! Sigh!

5. Why is your kid in time out? (inspired by Sera from Laughing Through The Chaos) Ouch! The question is why isn't mine in time out these days?

Check out the inspired by's - you won't regret it. I didn't.

I choose #1 because it is dramatic and this is Mama Drama. What is more dramatic than trips to the ER when you are a mama? Not much. I mean I have had a few ER trips before I was a mama. One involving a giant saw, a log, and a shot of Apple pucker. Not fun. Not dramatic just embarrassing. The ones that are the most memorable are the ones that happen after you become a mama the ones involving the munchkins. Actually I could probably slip in number two here as well.

The MP was just two weeks shy of turning 2 and the YP was just a couple of months old. We had just gotten home from town, remember I live in the Land of Nowhere, and I sat down to nurse the YP and the other two girls got up to the counter to eat Macaroni. Here I was nursing the baby when all of a sudden: WHACK! The MP is on the floor, we have hard tile floors on top of concrete. I practically through the YP at my cousin, ran over to the MP who is laying there with a bloody mouth. My mind was racing:

Did she bite her tongue?
Why is there blood?
Is her head OK?
Oh my God, why is she bleeding?
Why is the hubs over by the microwave?
What is he looking for?
Where in the hell is her teeth?
Oh my God - her teeth! Where is her teeth?

I think I actually started screaming at this point. I panicked. I did. Not a good idea - I know. So she fell backward in her chair while sitting at our island, hit the back of her head on the floor and her two front teeth FLEW out of her mouth. Yes FLEW! Who wouldn't panic a little?

Needless to say I spent the next two hours (Land of Nowhere) singing to my little girl and clapping my hands to keep her awake and trying to keep her still (which wasn't a real problem - which was problem. It's the MP and she never stays still.) Her eyes rolled back a few times. Then the mishaps came: The ambulance got lost. The dispatcher didn't call the local volunteer EMT's- They got a call from the lost ambulance. When they (the ambulance) finally did arrive - they were horrible. Rude. Annoying. Slow. Idiots. They made her stand - she fell into my arms. We forced them to take her. They wrapped her wrong (the Dr. at the ER made them do it again when they got there.) It was a mess. I cried. I prayed. I prayed a lot.

She was fine. No concussion. No cracked noggin. She was fine! Amazing. He was there (God moment- I felt it even through the panic). She had angels. Even the doctors were surprised. I will never forget when the Doctor looked at me and said, "Now tell me how her teeth fell out? She hit the back of her head." I responded, " I was hoping you were going to tell me?"

Lovely times. This will most likely not be the first time for this girl. She is rough. Thank heavens she is tough! Now the poor little thing won't have front teeth until she is seven. The OP has lost hers and gotten her new ones and there is my little MP- 3 1/2 years old with a "Window in her Smile."

The Snort is Out

I'm home. I'm home. I'm home! And don't you think I don't know what has been going on around here! I saw Lady Di's post, All Hail the Queens Of Awe- Summness? She let the snort out of the nose and I should defend myself but all I have to say is, Yes I snort! I snorted when I read Lady Di's post. I snorted the other day while watching The Ugly Truth, in a theatre full of people. I snorted. I can not deny it. The best part is that Lady Di thinks it is hilarious. It's my thing, my signature. I am proud of it. I embrace it and I learned the other day that I come by it honestly - my mama snorts too. Hee, hee.

I also have to say that I agree with her Awe-Summ picks and I do believe that Lady Di is pretty awe-summ herself, well I did before she told all of you about my snort. Paybacks are fun and let me tell you I just happen to have some great college photos of Lady Di that are PRICELESS. Thanks to my mama who just gave me an awesome picture scanner/printer they WILL be making an appearance on Mama Drama. Oh yes they will.

Also - 20 years! That is scary! Seriously - Denny's shirt? What? Why? Why would she tell you something like that? It has to be a lie. I deny it! (I think is was turquoise - yikes!) If I do remember correctly Lady Di was sporting some crazy whacked out hair do. Yep she had a fro. I do love her though (warts and all) and am thankful that our mamas made the connection.

Oh and I almost forgot. I must say Lady Di was a bit dramatic on the whole 9lb. 6oz. baby thing. JD boy was big, don't get me wrong. He also had a huge head. I know this because I was there. Yep watched the whole thing and let me tell you she might as well squeezed out a lemon. She has no problem giving birth to big babies. I think she pushed for like 20 minutes. 20 MINUTES and he was out. RIDICULOUS. The OP was 7lbs. 4oz. and I pushed for 3 HOURS and they still had to break out the vacuum. Lady Di is AWE- SUMM when it comes to delivery don't let her fool you.

Well as I said, I am home and in a few weeks I will be homeless. Some big changes are coming my way. My brain is seriously about to explode. The hubs, princesses and I are making a move. I think. I don't think I have mentioned that I am not a huge fan of change or decision making. Stay tuned. I just might need some advice.

It's good to be home. A little part of me is going to miss the Land of Nowhere. Photobucket

Telltale Signs Summer is Ending

The slip-n-slide is toast. No amount of duct tape can salvage a $10.00 piece of yellow plastic that has been used and abused by two small children almost everyday for the last two months. It was ceremoniously tossed into the trash yesterday with many heartfelt farewells from the JD Boy (he gets very attached).

Sniff, sniff, The pool is closing, sniff, sniff. I can't write anymore on this subject...it's too sad.

The parking lot at school is full of cars. The teachers are back at school preparing their rooms for the upcoming year.

Everyday a new back to school catalog arrives in the mailbox.

All summer stuff is on clearance at the stores (pretty soon they'll have Christmas stuff out).

I'm ready for school to begin so we can get back to a normal routine again, and I've run out of things for me and the kids to do.

I love summer but alas all good things must come to an end. Thanks for the memories.

Our visit to Monterey, lucky us, this is a day trip we take often.

JD Boy AKA Scuba Steve in the pool. He ditched the life vest by the end of summer, unfortunately not the goggles.

HRH taking in the sights at Morro Bay, another day trip for us (we went kayaking). Hmmm, did I mention we are lucky to live so close to the California coastline.

Mama Forgets, Mama Complains, Mama Gets Ice Cream-Monday's Mama Drama

You Know You Have Mama Drama When....

1. You are sitting around with your kids on a late Friday afternoon with seemingly nothing to do. It's nice lounging around, HOWEVER, you have this nagging feeling that you need to do something, or call someone, or make something, just DO something. At about a quarter past 4 o'clock you remember about that lil' thing called SWIM PRACTICE. Yeah, it's only been at 4 o'clock everyday this WHOLE summer.

2. You have whined and complained so much about doing your laundry on Facebook that even your friends that DON'T do Facebook were teasing and asking you, "Hey, did you get that laundry done yet?"

3. Cinderella was still so bored (remember last week) that you ran out of mundane jobs for her to do around the house, my windows are so clean. So, you loaned her out to a friend that needed help cleaning out her office.

4. Usually "breakfast for dinner" consists of blueberry waffles, bacon, and eggs (you know like a real meal). However, the other day after coming home really late "breakfast for dinner" consisted of cereal, milk, bowl, and spoon.

And Finally....

5. Your 3 yr. old has to go potty so bad during dinner at a restaurant that you don't have time to tell the waiter that you'll be right back. By the time you get back, they have cleared your plates. The hazards of dining with two small children solo. THEN you try to salvage the evening by taking the kids for ice cream and when you pull up to the ice cream shop at 8:10 you see that they closed at 8:00. Your son leans forward and upon also realizing the shop is closed declares, "Oh man, this is BS!!" To which you reply, "That's right!" He responds, "Yeah, that's a big ol' Bologna Sandwich" See, the mommy lingo works!! **We did find an ice cream shop.

Let 'em think you are a pastry GODDESS-Lady Di's Recipe book

Well, it's Sunday and after spending ALL day at a swim meet (snore, snore) yesterday, my is brain is fried. Although, you'd think I would be well rested because if you have never been to a swim meet here is the gist of it: You sit around ALL day under a pop up tent in the HOT sun, if you're lucky (which praise be to God, I was) you're small children will behave and keep themselves occupied with the toys you brought for them to play with, while you sit and wait for your kid to swim in her event you read every tabloid magazine and find out more than you ever want to know about that @$$ clown Jon Gosselin's new love life (tiny bit of vomit in mouth), then FINALLY after 3 hours of waiting you watch your kid swim in her event for a WHOPPING 30 something seconds. Then you repeat for another 2 hours except this time you're reading about a different @$$ clown while waiting for the next round of events.

So, needless to say, I have NOTHING of spectacular importance to contribute today. While I was in the kitchen making the kids breakfast. Well, I mean getting them breakfast, I wouldn't consider pouring Lucky Charms into a bowl "making" breakfast. Anyway, being in the kitchen inspired me to share a recipe today. I am all about the easy recipe where the finished product looks like you spent a lot of time and skill in making it. This recipe can be what it is which is SUPER EASY or you can add a few minor touches to dress it up and make it look you are a gourmet pastry chef.

Chocolate Crescent Rolls OR (if you want to be fancy) Chocolate Croissants

1 tube crescent rolls (can use regular size, I like to use the larger crescent rolls)

butter softened at room temp

chocolate chips (can be semi-sweet or milk choc.)

This is the "I've got all the stuff in my pantry and I just want to make something delicious that is quick and they don't have to be fancy because I am going to eat them ALL anyway" Recipe.

**Unroll crescent rolls. Brush with butter. Place a handful of chocolate chips on each crescent triangle piece. Roll up from wide (just like you would for regular crescent rolls). Place on baking sheet and bake according to directions according to package. Let cool slightly. Eat while still warm.

This is the "Make them OOH and AHH and think you are a pastry GODDESS"

Extra ingredients needed for fancy recipe

egg (beaten)
sliced almonds
powdered sugar
chocolate chips (melted)

Follow directions above for regular recipe. Beat one egg and brush onto rolled crescent rolls, then place a 2-3 sliced almonds on top of each roll before placing in oven. Melt chocolate chips in microwave at 10-15 sec. intervals until creamy. Stir to prevent burning. Or, you can melt chips in a pan over boiling water ( I prefer this way because the chocolate melts creamier and doesn't burn). Place the chocolate rolls on cooling racks, put wax paper under cooling racks (for the mess that is about to ensue). Let rolls, cool for about 10 minutes. Put melted chocolate in a bag. I use a pastry bag only because I have them around for my cake decorating, but you can use ziplock bags and cut the corner to squeeze the choc. out. Squeeze and squiggle choc. back and forth all over rolls. Dust with powdered sugar for the final touch. They'll look like you bought them at a fancy schmancy bakery, I promise.

Friday Five: Forests, packing, dirt and stuff.

Amy's Friday Five: This is where I share with you five things I learned this week because there is always something to be learned. In the process you might just learn a little something about me.

I learned:

1. When in a forest you hear what sounds like a herd of elephants running towards you, grab the
kids and run for cover. Don't stand there and think, Wow it sounds like a herd of elephants are
coming my way. It is going to pour and your going to get soaked or struck by lightening.

2. Dawn dish soap is amazing. It gets off everything. Sap in particular. My MP found a puddle of
it and had it dripping from her hands. Dawn came to my rescue.

3. I ALWAYS seem to go home with more than what I came with. I didn't even do that much
shopping and yet I still accumulated stuff. I think it multiplies on it's own.

4. Packing is no fun. I don't like doing it.

5. My princesses can put a whole new meaning to filthy. Give them a forest to play in and they
can get down and dirty. They had a blast camping and it wasn't so bad for me either.

Have a fabulous Friday. We are leaving for home and the princesses and I can't wait to see
The hubs/Daddy!

Daddy's Girl- Wordful Wednesday

I was actually organizing the pictures on my computer ( I know, I still can't hardly believe it myself). While I was sorting numerous, various pictures into folders with names and everything, I found two pictures that reminded me just how much of a Daddy's girl HRH (Her Royal Highness) really was when she was younger. We were at a Christmas tree farm and she was not quite 2 yrs. old at the time.

Here she is with Daddy....
Ahhh....happy indeed in Daddy's arms. Yet, look closely...notice the glimmer in the eye, the smirk in the smile, as if to say," He's MINE, ALL MINE!!!!"

And with that other woman known as mom....

Go ahead, scroll up and down to get a good look at the contrast. Although one need not be a CSI Agent to see whose arms HRH preferred to be in at the time.

Now, don't get me wrong. She still has dear-old-dad wrapped firmly around that tiny pinky. However, she now will at least acknowledge that there is another female in the house who she may have to share Dad with from time to time. AND...since this female happens to be the person who gave BIRTH to her she reconsidered her evil plan to knock her unconscious and send her to Cambodia in a Fed Ex box. HRH may even sit in her lap every now and then, give her hugs, kisses, and tell her she loves her.

Although she made a slip one time when this lower female life form called mother asked jokingly when begging for a bite of her cookie, "Don't you love your mommy?" She replied with all the sass a 3 yr. can muster, "Um..not today" AND walked off with the cookie. It's alright, I understand. A daughter has a special bond with their Daddy. I'm not jealous or anything, I'm an adult. I can handle a sassy 3 yr. old.

So, the next day I was eating a piece of chocolate when little Miss Thing (HRH) sauntered by. She stopped and said very sweetly, "Mommy, can I have some?" I said with all the sass a 31 yr. old can muster, "I thought you said you didn't love me." HRH very sweetly still, "I do today." I considered that, however, I finished that piece of chocolate as she stood there giving me the stink eye the whole time. HRH just rolled her eyes and let out a hefty "HMPH" as she vacated the room. THE BATTLE LINES WERE DRAWN. My friends all laugh when they witness these little "interactions" between us and they look at me and say, "And, you wonder where she gets all her sass and spunk?" If this kind of thing is happening at 3 I CAN'T wait to deal with HRH when she is a teenager.

However.............progress has been made and we called a truce by the time her 3rd birthday rolled around

Although, I had to make her a big @$$ princess cake to bribe her to sit and smile with me. :) Ahhh, but just look at that smile. Maybe those teenage years won't be so bad after all..... DOUBT IT!!!!

All Hail The Queens Of Awe-Summmness

Okay, so we are not exactly that Awe-Summm because we were graciously given this award by Stacey @ Willowjak Boys back in July and it is just now that I am finally getting the time to do this post. Thank you Stacey. We think you (and your family) are pretty Awe-Summm too.

Well, here are the rules for this most Awe-Summ award. First, the recepient must reveal 7 Awe-Summm things about them self. In this case, there are two of us. However, Amy is off catching West-Nile virus or malaria or some such nonsense according to the paranoia in her head while she camps with her daughters and mom in the great Montana outdoors. Don't worry, I will reveal some things about my good bud Amy. She might not like what I have to reveal, remember the Things That Annoy Lady Di post a while back? Well, I do and paybacks are a'comin'. Hey, she is stuck out in the forest with no cell phone service, much less a computer with internet. The blog is mine...ALL MINE (cue the Dr. Evil laugh). Ahem, okay. now. Where was I....oh yes, after I reveal all things Awe-Summm about myself and my (hee, hee) colleague I must bestow the award onto seven other Awe-Summm bloggers.

1. I am a major procrastinator, BUT its Awe-Summm because it works in my favor. I totally do my BEST work under pressure. Forget that being done with a project days before the deadline. That's for sissys. There is nothing like having to read a 1000 page biography on Theodore Roosevelt and writing a 7 page essay with references the weekend before the Monday morning class it is due. Not impressed? Well, how about writing a paper on the importance of differentiating instruction in the classroom for English Language Learners the night before the deadline, while a sick baby sleeps in your lap. My well-organized, good at time management friends think I am crazy. However, it's like my brain doesn't function unless I have the feeling that it "has" to get done. Do or die baby!! Never missed a deadline yet!!! Oh, and I got an A+ on that Teddy Roosevelt paper.

2. I lived in Germany for nine months with my sister after I graduated from high school. I learned a lot of German (which I have now mostly forgotten) and drank a lot of beer (I still know how to do that). I am so glad I had the opportunity to go out on my own and just be free before I went to college. My sister had two small children and I basically got free room and board in exchange for being a live in nanny to my niece and nephew. It is a completely different experience actually living in a foreign country. For those of you that are wondering, my sister lived in Germany because she married a German. She has since divorced the German and has remarried a Hollander and now lives near Amsterdam. She is fluent in both German and Dutch, AND is learning Spanish. Hmmm, I wonder?? Maybe in a few years she can divorce and remarry a Spaniard, then move to Spain. I've always wanted to visit the southern part of Europe.

3. I can read a book in one night. I used to be able to read a book in one day but since I have other things going on during the day like the caring and feeding of children (I know.. ridiculous), I have to resort to vampirism (minus the blood sucking thing) in order to read my favorite books. I get completely hooked and I literally can not put it down. Now that I am done with my credential program, my nights are free to blog, read, or sleep. I chose the first two usually more than the last. I kind of forgot how much I love to read for pleasure. Now, I am reading like books are being burned every night in huge bon fires. Since June I have read all nine of the Sookie Stackhouse novels (HBO's True Blood series is based on these novels) by Charlaine Harris, Shelter Me by Juliette Fay, Girls In Trucks by Katie Crouch, Jane Austen Ruined My Life by Beth Pattillo, and Run by Ann Patchett. Then there are all the Aspergers and Autism books, but those are not so much for pleasure as for trying to figure things out. I fear a pair of reading glasses may be in my future soon.

4. I gave birth to a 9 lb. 6 oz, 23 (yes 23) in. long baby boy. Now, yes I did have an epidural because I am not out to win the "I gave birth naturally" brownie points. Some other crazy lady can have them. However COMMA that is one flippin' big baby to have passing through your uh..well...you know. Then the day we got home from the hospital the whole family came over and threw us a big party. Actually, it was the 4th of July and they just wanted to swim in my pool but anyway. The next baby I had wasn't near as big. No, no...she was only 9 lbs. 2 oz and 21 inches long. Thanks God, way to cut me some slack by shaving off a whopping 4 ounces and 2 inches. Okay, seriously God...don't get mad, I'm really grateful I had healthy babies. I'm just showing off in front of my bloggy friends.

5. My blogging partner in crime Amy and I have known each other for over 20 (cough, cough) years now and have been best friends since around high school. I remember the very first day we met....We were both in 4-H and we were showing animals at a fair. Our moms pulled a fast one on us and pulled the ol' "go over and say Hi to this girl, she needs a friend." Good move moms, so there we were looking at each other, each thinking the other was some kind of geek in need of some friends. AND, here's the best part about this memory...Amy was standing in her pig pen with boots on, pigtails, and a baby blue Denny's Restaurant T-shirt on. She looked like such a country bumpkin, not that I looked any better. I believe I was in my 4-H uniform which consisted of white pants, white shirt, a stupid green scarf, and an even more stupid looking green sailor looking hat with a big clover on it. I know I just used the word looking a lot, but it's the only way to describe that crazy get up. Yeah, we were quite the pair. I guess our moms were on to something because we have been together ever since; from college, to marriage, having babies, and now telling our crazy little life tales. I was telling someone once about my friendship with Amy and she told me, "It's good to have a friend in your life who loves you, warts and all." It's an odd little saying, but so true.

6. Amy and I are the Queens of practical jokes. Her poor hubby can atest to this. He was the target of not one, but TWO of our most famous jokes while we were in college. The first shall be known as The Affair of the Ice Cube. We were at a little get together and Amy's future hubs always fell asleep at these things. So, what would you do if you were a young, immature, slightly buzzed college kid? Let the poor guy sleep, he's been working hard...No, NO. You would put ice cubes down his pants. Well, he FINALLY woke up when about what I think was almost a dozen cubes melted in his pants. Unfortunately, not all the cubes were melted so he began throwing those at his attackers (me being one of them). One cube, sort of kind of, not really hit me in the face. Of course I made a big production out of it and he felt real bad and we all went home. My innocent friend Amy decided the next morning to use makeup to make it look like I had a huge bruised, black eye. We reported for duty at work (Amy's future hubs was the student in charge, sort of our boss). He saw my eye and of course we laid it on thick about the ice throwing incident. AND...of course he had the hots for my girl Amy so he was beside himself thinking he just made the biggest faux pau of his life injuring the best friend. We had him going all day until it got hot and I started to sweat. By noon my GI-NORMOUS black eye turned into what looked like a dirty soot mark on my cheek.

He finally caught on to us, but he didn't learn his lesson because we were able to pull another prank on him that involved bulls being on the loose (supposedly), and a late night phone call to him using a technique we like to call reverse prank psychology. This is where you say something like this, "Ha, Ha good one. You thought you would get us back for the little ice thing by having one of your buddies pretend he's a cop calling to tell us the bulls are loose on the school farm. Nice, but it's not going to work." A's future hubs silent on the line...finally speaks, "What do you mean?" Queen of Pranks: "Don't play dumb with us, we know you had some one call and tell us the bulls were out again." A's future hubs silent again..."Uh...you called me, I was asleep...oh F*#K the bulls are out!!! That was the REAL police they went down the call list, you're on the call list...Oh my God I got to go!" The Queens give each other a high five. One minute later we see headlights at the school farm. Five minutes later, Amy's future hubs is knocking on the apartment door and he is not impressed, but we were, and so was every one else the next day at school. Great success!!

7. This one is the most Awe-Summm thing about me (oh and it's about Amy too, this is the payback). I am so garsh darn funny that I can make my best friend snort when she laughs. I'm talking huge donkey ee-haw, ee-haw snorts! One time, while attending a thrilling evening Health Science class I made some comment. I can't even remember what I said but apparently it was funny because Amy started laughing. This of course egged me on to make more colorful commentary on our exciting learning endeavor and she started to suck in lots of air when she laughed, and I knew it was coming. SNORT, SNORT, before she could even help herself. The teacher had to ask the obligatory question that all teachers ask students that are f-ing off in class, "I'm sorry girls, do you have something to add?" I replied honestly, "Oh no, she just snorted, no problem were listening." I had a little bit of a bruise on my arm the next day, but what the heck? Her future husband had already given me a black eye. I can still make her snort when she laughs, but now it just happens while we talk on the phone. I have to admit it's not as much fun when its not in person. That's why I make it my personal goal to make her do it as many times as I possibly can when I do see her. Sorry Amy, you know I'm laughing with you not at you (smirk, smirk, wink, wink).

Now then, here are seven other bloggers we think or I think because I can't consult with my nature loving buddy right now (but I'm sure she would agree) are Awe-Summm:

In no particular order ( I just numbered them because I can't make a list without numbers)

1. Modern Mom @ How To Survive Life in The Suburbs
2. Jenny Mac @ Lets have a cocktail...
3. Amy @ Keeping Up With the Schultz Family
4. The Blond Duck @ A Duck in Her Pond
5. Kristin and Megan @ Bon Bon Rose
6. Erin @ My Little Miracles
7. Short Mama @ Family of Shorts

8. John Deere Mom there is a special reason I broke the rules, keep reading.

These ladies are all smart, witty, funny, talented and have become very good invisible friends. I only wish I could pick more than seven (silly rules). However, since I'm such a good girl I will stick to the rules of the award, least my Awe-Summmness be stripped from me.

But where is she??? The Queen of All Things Awe-Summm....

Now, here is the part were my "un-techy" skills hamper me. Notice I did not list "computer skills" on the seven things that are Awe-Summm about Lady Di. There is a really cute little button that is "the award". I'm sure many of you have seen her. The smiling 50's era looking lady with the crown on her head. Well, I can't figure out how to get her image on my post. Darn it! I really don't like the thought of having an incomplete post. However, I feel I must get this posted before my buddy Amy gets back from her little camping trip. That way there is no "editing" of the content of my most Awe-summm post. So, I am going to post and then have the nerve to ask my bud Amy to "fix" the Queen picture/button/award problem. She loves me warts and all, she'll do it. It won't matter that I called her a snort laughing country bumpkin, she knows I am always laughing WITH her not AT her. We will contact the seven ladies when their award is ready.I did it!! I got the Queen on to my post. Thank you JohnDeere Mom for giving me instructions and not writing the word DUH! (although I deserve it) at the end of your comment. You're the best. I am officially breaking the rules and adding a #8 click on her link and tell her she is Awe-Summm.

Coppertone Butts, My Own Personal Cinderella, and Talking Rodents-Monday's Mama Drama

You Know You Have Mama Drama When.....

1. You essentially do turn your step-daughter into Cinderella because she made the mistake of sulking around the house and said, "I'm bored." Don't worry, I'm an equal opportunity wicked mother. Her younger half-sibs were turned into her mice friends, Jacques and Gus-Gus. My house was "in-laws are coming over" clean!

2. You are looking for your son at the pool through the fence during swim lessons (parents not allowed inside facility) to see how he is doing. You can't see him and wonder where he is. You look all over and then you here a mom say, "Oh, look at the little boy running out of the bathroom with his Coppertone butt sticking out of his shorts." YEP, found him! I didn't even have to look. I knew it was mine.

3. The dog got a bath and the lawn was mowed because Cinderella said the magic words AGAIN!! Yes, YES....she apparently did not learn what I learned way back when that hot summer day when my mother handed me a rake and a hula hoe then said, "Here's something you can do." with a smile on her face. Oh well...maybe she'll do it again this week, my windows are looking a little dirty.

4. You actually sit and watch a movie in which guinea pigs talk and have more spy gadgets and moves than James Bond. Yeah....that's an hour and a half of my life I will never get back. HOWEVER, the upside is that it brings me great joy to hear my son laugh HYSTERICALLY. So, the stupid talking guinea pig dreams I have now are worth it after all I guess.

And Finally.....

5. You are having dinner and your son has a bad case of "gas". He keeps "cracking" them off throughout your meal and you try to ignore them. However, the sweet 3 yr. old picks up on it and HAS to join in the action. She begins to "blow wind" as she calls it and she takes it a step further by adding a nice belch. The boy not wanting to be out done by the 3 yr. old decides he must belch as well. Finally, I say, "Oh my goodness! What is going on with you two?" To which my sweet girl replies shrugging her shoulders and hands up, "Well, we eat a lot of food and it makes us burp and fart." NO COMMENT

Going Camping................................

The princesses and I are going camping. Leaving today. So here's the deal: if no one hears from me by Wednesday, report us missing. Call the national guard, the forest service, Fox news and the United States government. Tell them we have been eaten by bears, abducted by aliens, contracted West Nile, fell in the river, or swallowed by a giant Venus Fly Trap! You get the point!

I am a bit paranoid. Hope you have a relaxing Sunday mine is sure to be interesting. Did I say I am paranoid? I am. I won't be relaxing. Instead I will be chasing 3 princesses and a puppy, two of which are magnets to water (the pups and the YP). Did I mention the fast roaring river? The gigantic mosquito's? Oh my! I might need drugs.

Just kidding. We will be fine. Right?

Did I mention I have no cell service? Oh dear.

Our Mission

To have a safe place where you can air all your mama drama without judgement, cause we know you don't always have the kids in bed by 7 and make creme brulee for dessert every night.

Oh yeah.........

and if you do, you're on the wrong blog!
