Blog Party In Honor of Tuesday - Please Donate

From now until May 8th, I am holding this give-away to help benifit Whatchagonnado.org, which is an organization that was founded by Charley & Jessica Whitt to honor their daughter Tuesday. Although their site is not completely up and running yet, the idea they have is - it is planned to be up soon. Whatchagonnado.org is being set up to benefit families that are dealing directly with pediatric cancer. It will help to fund their medical costs, food & travel, and even funeral arrangements, if needed. Of course it will also help to provide funds for Pediatric Cancer Research.

Charley & Jess know all too well what it is to live with pediatric cancer..... Tuesday was their beautiful twin daughter who bravely fought and sadly lost her 8 month battle with stage 4 neuroblastoma in January of 2009. They learned firsthand what cancer does to a family and they want to turn their pain & their loss into something to help others.

So myself along with many other of Jess & Charley's friends want to do anything we can to help them achieve their goal and make sure that the loss of Tuesday is never forgotten and always has purpose.

The Winner Is..............

I picked the winner of the Tuesday blog party using Random.org and the winner of my I Spy Pillow is Rita @ With All My Sparetime....  Yay! Congratulations!! 

I have already contacted her and her family is really excited about the win.  This was fun and I hope that I get to participate in another fundraiser soon.

Taking Some Time for Tuesday

I don't know Tuesday Fiona Witt, I have seen pictures even watched videos.  I have read many posts describing her and ran across many fundraisers in her honor.  Mostly I know that she lost an 8 month battle with neuroblastoma in January of this year. When I read about her story my heart aches. I can't imagine what her family and friends are going through.  I pray that they find peace and I pray that the medical field finds a cure for all cancer. 

There are no words that can mend a heart that has lost a child.  My mom lost my sister when I was two years old and I still feel her absence and my Mom still can't talk about it.  There is no greater pain.  I wish everyday that I could do something to mend her heart.  My mom didn't have a great support system. My biological father left, my family didn't help her cope and it wasn't until years later when she found a friend who had suffered in the same way that she had someone to talk to. That makes me sad in so many ways.  We grew up not really knowing much about my sister - we just didn't talk about her and in that way we didn't honor her.

Today I would like to pay tribute to Tuesday,  her family, to the people that surround them and support them through this very difficult time, to the people who have donated and keep donating on Tuesday's behalf and to all the people who talk about her and who love her. You are all so very special and are making a difference.  

I pray that one day cancer is wiped out for good. That they find a cure soon that not another person is lost. Today is the Tuesday Blog Party. Today is a chance for people like me to give a little in honor of Tuesday. When I first saw the little button I knew that I must participate in this and I hope that you will too.
