A Tired Mind Makes For Some Very Random Thoughts

Boy, I had fun at the river today. Much more fun than doing laundry.

Ugh...I have a lot of freakin' laundry to do now, hope I have some clean clothes to wear tomorrow.

Is it really necessary to have an educational cartoon network that shows programs 24 hrs? I mean really, shouldn't all the little young Einsteins of the world be in bed by now?

Of course, MY little Einstein is still up rolling backing and forth in MY bed, sucking her thumb while Kai-Lan tries to teach her Chinese (or is it Japanese).

And, while I'm on the subject of cartoons....why do all cartoons now a days have to be so educational and PC? I mean why can't Kai-Lan light a stick of dynamite under Rin-Tu's butt or some other silly antic that involves serious physical injury? I watched Tom and Jerry do it to each other all the time and I'm okay. In fact, talk about educational. My siblings and I spent hours plotting and planning elaborate booby traps for one another. There is a lot of physics and engineering going on when you set up a sling shot that shoots dirty underwear at the person who opens and walks through your bedroom door.

Anyway....oh goody there's yet ANOTHER shooting in the area. I swear, something HAS got to give with the gang issue going on in this town. I'm not usually a paranoid or nervous person HOWEVER COMMA when a shooting occurs in front of the restaurant where I was having dinner with my family, MY CHILDREN, just minutes after we leave, I am officially uncomfortable going out of the house.

Ugh, I think I hate the news. In fact, there's so much bad sh!t on the news, I think it may be bad for my health. I'm going to turn the channel.

I love watching MASH re-runs. I think of my dad every time I hear that opening music. My dads not dead or anything, he just LOVED watching MASH. So every time I hear that music it reminds me of dear ol' dad sitting in "his" chair laughing at the T.V.

I'm going to have to elbow him (him meaning my husband) when I'm done with this so he will roll over and hopefully stop SNORING. Seriously, how do you not know, feel, or hear your self snoring THAT loud??

AND, how do you sleep with a remote control on your head? Yes, a remote control is on his head. I theorize he had it in his hand and was holding it up to "click" on the guide or change the channel. At the exact same time the sleep fairy flew by and sprinkled sleepy dust and BAM just like that he was out like a light, his hand dropped, thus placing remote atop snoring head.

Okay, that's enough. I'm getting loopy. It's 11 o'clock. So much for my new resolution to get to bed early.

By the way...No, I am not on acid right now. I am just participating in Random Thoughts Tuesday. I hope it was okay....I am a RTT newbie.

Haha! I am laughing at the remote on the head because that is definitely something my husband would do.

I completely agree with the over-PCness (yeah, made that up) of cartoons today. How are kids supposed to learn about turning the kitchen floor into an ice rink, or how to escape Wile E. Coyote when he's shooting at you with a bow and arrow? Okay... kidding, kidding... but it is getting ridiculous.

I remember when the Simpsons first aired on Fox (yeah I feel old when I say that) and my mom would NOT let my brother and I watch it (but we snuck it anyway).

Hi! Popping over from SITS Roll Call to visit.

You know, I put myself on news fasts every once in awhile. Just stop watching it altogether and no newspaper or news websites either. You'd be surprised how much that stuff affects your mood and attitude when you fast from it a few days.

I once took my husband's cell phone and recorded his snoring just to prove to him how LOUD he really can get and why I am constantly nudging him throughout the entire night. My best sleep comes when he falls asleep on the couch, and yes, I leave him there.

I used to work at an educational toy store, and it was the most boring place in the world. The kids couldn't stand it.

Lady, you crack my up! What a great read! I know what you mean about MASH! Amybe it's just a dad thing because the theme song reminds me of my daddy as well. Even though we don't get along, the song never fails to put a smile on my face. Ni-hao, it's chinese. Trust me, Cartoon network is so far from educational it's not even funny. But the cartoons are hilarious! Lol. YOu must mean Noggin. Tom And Jerry is my personal favorite cartoon ever.

So that's where my remote goes. Next time I'll look on top of my head.
Those were random thoughts indeed.

My parents used to always watch MASH after the news so it became normal for me to expect to hear the music and know that it's time for bed.

That is so freaky about the shooting. Eeek!

I thought the EXACT same thing about the cartoons being on 24 hours a day!

And my hubby snores LOUDLY, too - I have kicked and elbowed him so much he's getting a complex...sometimes he'll relocate to the other room to happily snore away so I can happily stretch out and sleep peacefully. :)

Yeah, I think I'd be uncomfortable leaving the house if a shooting happened that close...scary!!

Great job on your first RTT! I enjoyed it immensely! :)

I think you're right about the programming. There's simply no need for 24 hours.

I'm encouraging you to stay at home! That's frightening!

Wow, that IS scary. I'd be stocking up on canned goods and hiding out in the basement til it all passes.

Is it bad that I let my 2 year old watch Family Guy and the Simpsons based on the principle that I watched the Roadrunner get blown up all the time and I turned out fine?

I mean, OF COURSE I DON'T DO THAT. Much.

Where is that sleep fairy? I need her to move in with me.

I love your humor and this was a very good RTT! I enjoyed it so much!!

Awwwh I think of my Dad every single time I hear or see MASH too. We used to watch it every Thursday night while my Mom was at choir practice!

Great Post!

Our Mission

To have a safe place where you can air all your mama drama without judgement, cause we know you don't always have the kids in bed by 7 and make creme brulee for dessert every night.

Oh yeah.........

and if you do, you're on the wrong blog!
